GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Thrush Aircraft Inc Turbo Thrush is designed especially for agricultural flying. It is a monoplane featuring a full cantilever low wing and all metal construction. The design and construction of the airframe components assure all structural integrity, flight safety, and minimum maintenance requirements. The Turbo Thrush is designed for the highest crash load factors in the industry. Safety and reliability of operationand maximum pilot crash protection are provenand effective features of the design. The highstrength overturn structure is a proven design. The fuselage and overturn structure, constructed throughout of chrome-moly steel tubing, is immensely strong in the cockpit area.

The DA42 is a twin-engine, four seat, low wing mono-plane. It has a cantilever wing and a `T` tail. The airplane structure is fibre reinforced plastic composite. This gives a very strong but lightweight structure. The semi-monocoque fuselage is a carbon-fibre reinforcedplastic (CFRP) shell with glass-fibre reinforced-plastic (GFRP) bulkheads and stiffeners. The fuselage is constructed in two halves that are bonded together after installation of the fuselage bulkheads and frames. Carbon fibre is used in many areas to give increased strength and rigidity. A roll-over protection bar forms part of the construction of the cockpit area. The vertical stabilizer is integral with the fuselage shells. A wing centre section attaches to the bottom of the fuselage centre section. The wing centre section has the two engine nacelles, the wing stubs and the fuselage centre-section floor. The engine nacelles give the fixing points for the engines. The wing stubs have the attachment points for the outer wings. Two main spars ('spar bridges') transfer the loads from the wings to the fuselage. Four main bolts and two auxiliary bolts attach the wing spar stubs to the wing centre section. The centre section has the main landing gear bays and landing gear leg attachments.
